These are exactly as I remember back in the 70's. I was told to soak them in warm water to soften and then wear them until they dry and they should fit like a glove .. Thanks..!!

I love the look of these. As real leather, they are a bit firm out of the package. I expect with wear they will grow more flexible. The soles are very thin, almost like walking barefoot, with a tiny heel piece. I have barefoot sandals in rubber and cord, but I prefer this natural product better. I would recommend these.

Shipment was quick but I did not get the right size, not sure their fault or mine. What I can tell you is that their customer service is among the best I have ever worked with. They responded very quickly and since it was so close to Christmas they mailed out another pair before even receiving the pair back that I had. They also included the prepaid packaging to return the sandals in. The sandals are exactly as I remember them in my youth, maybe a little sturdier. I wear a 91/2 wide sandal so I ordered a size 10. The strap over the the big toe could be a little bit bigger. I have trouble sliding my toes under the strap. The sandals look like they did back in the day when I wore them.

I love these shoes!! They do run more on the men’s size though they’re unisex so ladies buy what size you’d wear in men’s shoes. I mistakenly ordered my normal size but they were so kind and helpful and let me exchange them to a better fit. The strap that goes in between the toes did make my toes sore until I broke them in but they’re amazing now and love them. I highly recommend not only these shoes but this shop for any and all purchases. I’m so please with this place and their items. Such good quality too.

I love the sandals and I’m going to keep them, but the sizing just doesn’t work for my feet. The 7’s were way too big for me and the 6’s are too short. A little disappointing. The sandals are great if the sizing works for you.

Let me preface by saying these are unisex so women buy very small sizes. I accidentally purchased my normal size so when I received them they were gigantic. Thankfully they explained to me what happened and offered me to send the back for another size or return them. I love the design so I am exchanging them. I should get them today. The customer service has been exceptional. They have responded to me in a timely manner each time I have reached out and are so kind and professional. This store is really such a please you buy from. Bought these JC's (as we called them back in the day) as a gift for my husband. The look is authentic and love the detail of the shoe. Will take a little getting use to (they will be comfortable after he wears them in). The TOE Strap is a little further up like others have posted on their review, but wearing them around the house and not for long periods of time will be fine. I am from India and the sandals come from a place called Kolhapur which is known for its spicy food and these sandals. The sandals are primarily worn by the village folks but are very popular with city folks and go well with Jeans and Kurta a longish Indian shirt.
The ones I got from the Hippie Shop are the real deal and are very comfortable. Kolhapuri Chappals as they are known in India take time to break into as the leather can be a bit tough but these are well "seasoned" and quite comfortable.
They fit well and the price is great too! Great deal!
